very simple. their agents got the audition for them. they went to the audition, got the park, need to eat, need money, need work, then signed the contract. later, made money, got well-kown, loved the show, loved fellow actors, then signed another year....

I don't think there were any complicated "battles of mind" when they accepted their part in the show. actors are artists.
